Excelsior and KC retain Corporate Area track and field titles

Defending champions Excelsior and Kingston College retained the respective titles as the curtain came down on the 2022 staging of the Corporate Area Development Meet at the National Stadium on Saturday.  

Excelsior tallied 416 points to gain another hold on the girls’ title, with Immaculate Conception next on 311.5, Wolmer's 248.5, The Queen's School 224 and St Andrew High on 90 occupying the top five places.

Over on the boys side, Kingston College tallied 507.5 points to win ahead of Jamaica College 427 and Calabar 335.5 rounding out the top three.

Meanwhile, Kingston College's captain Bouwahjgie Nkrumie was one of the star performers on the final day, clocking a Corporate Area record of 10.40 seconds to win the class one boy's 100 metres.

Camperdown's Roshawn Clarke was also in record breaking form, clocking 50.31 seconds to win the Class 1 boys 400 metre hurdles.
 
Immaculate Conception High showed their sprint prowess ahead of "Champs", sweeping the 100 metres for girls at the meet.

Kedoya Lindo won the Class 4 event in 12.16 seconds; Shevi-Ann Shim captured Class 3 in 12.07 seconds; over in Class 2, Mickaila Haisley erased the previous record of 12.01 seconds set by Exclesior's Renee Shaw to win in an impressive 11.95 seconds, while in Class 1, Gabrielle Lyn led home her teammate Chanel Holywell in 12.09 seconds to complete the sweep.
