Fraser-Pryce and Parchment head Jamaica's World Champs team

5-time world 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Olympic sprint hurdles champion Hansle Parchment headline Jamaica's team for the 19th World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary later this month.

A 65-member team comprising 32 men and 33 women was announced by the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) on Wednesday.

Apart from Fraser-Pryce who will defend the 100 metre title, the women's team also includes defending 200m champion Shericka Jackson as well as seasoned campaigners Natoya Goule, Megan Tapper, Janieve Russell, Candice McLeod, Shanieka Ricketts, Rushell Clayton, Lamara Distin and Danniel Thomas-Dodd.

The men's team also includes national champion Rohan Watson, Ryiem Ford and Oblique Seville who have all been entered for the 100 metres, Rasheed Broadbell, Roshawn Clarke, Tajay Gayle, Jaydon Hibbert, Travis Smikle, Fedrick Dacres, Roje Stona and new national shot put record holder Rajindra Campbell.

Despite being the fastest Jamaican this year over 400 metres, national record holder Rusheen McDonald was only selected for the mixed relay.

Meanwhile, a camp which is not mandatory, will be held in Budapest from August 9-15. Technical leader Maurice Wilson will have a 10-member coaching staff, while JAAA executive member Judith Ewart will be the team manager.
