Former Trinidad and Tobago and West Indies batsman Daren Ganga believes Cricket West Indies (CWI) and suspended batsman Darren Bravo are both being made to suffer as a result of his continued exclusion from the team.
CWI President Dave Cameron says Bravo will not be allowed to play until he removes a tweet where he called Cameron a 'big idiot'. However, Bravo has been unwilling to do so and has also taken the board to court.
Speaking on Hitz 92 FM's Sports Grill, Ganga says it's a losing situation for both parties. “It is not healthy for either party involved because here it is that you do not have one of your premier players on the team to make you more competitive, more marketable for you to achieve your mandate and strategic objectives as an organization. You also have a young player who is not getting the opportunity to play competitive cricket,” said Ganga.
While Bravo has been painted in a bad light, Ganga feels the board should step up and resolve the issue. “At this point in time, I think the board should try behind closed doors to meet with Darren Bravo and resolve the situation or to get some person who Darren Bravo and his advisors can trust to act on his behalf to being both parties together,” noted Ganga.
