President of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) Garth Gayle has sought to allay fears that Grand Slam Track-contracted athletes were set to lose out on earnings at the final leg of the series due to a clash with the National Senior and Junior Championships.

Gayle confirmed that his executive decided against moving the current date of the National Championships which is set for June 26-29.

Their decision comes ten days after Radio Jamaica Sports first reported that the top brass of the JAAA was having discussions to change the date to between mid-July and the start of August.

This would have resulted in the trials being held closer to this summer's World Championships, which is scheduled for September 13-21.
