Hope scores century as Windies tie with India

Shai Hope's second One Day International century earned the West Indies a tie as the Caribbean men squandered a good opportunity to level the series 1-1 against India. Set 322 runs for victory, the West Indies were well on their way to victory with 22 runs to get off the final three overs. However, the 48 over yielded only 2 runs plus the wicket of captain Jason Holder with the Windies 302-6.

The Windies from there needed 14 runs from the final before lowering the equation to 5 runs from one delivery. But Hope who ended 123 not out got four from the last ball to leave the scores tied at 321-6. Shimron Hetmyer was next best for the Windies with 94 as Kuldeep Yadav ended with 3-67.

Earlier, India’s captain Virat Kholi became the fastest player to 10,000 ODI runs as he smashed 157 not out from 129 balls. Ambati Rayudu also chipped in with 73 against Ashley Nurse and debutant Obed McCoy who both ended with two wickets each. India lead the series 1-0.
