Hyde not at Penns

World Junior and Youth Olympic Champion Jaheel Hyde who is listed to compete on Saturday's final day of the 121st Penn Relays in the Olympic Development 400 metre hurdles event, will not compete.

Hyde did not make the trip to Philadelphia.

The 18-year-old Wolmerian was ruled ineligible to compete in the high school section of the relay carnival by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletics Association, PIAA, which governs the relays, after signing a professional contract and endorsement deal with Telecommunications company LIME.

Unlike Calabar's Michael O'Hara who nullified his contract with Digicel after his legal team filed a temporary injunction in a Philadelphia court, which ordered a hearing to be conducted by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletics Association and was reinstated, Hyde turned down that opportunity and will remain a professional.
