Jamaica College acting principal Wayne Robinson says there is a clear bias against his school following a recent decision by ISSA to throw out an appeal for two of their overseas athletes to be eligible for this year's ISSA Boys and Girls Athletics Championships.
But, ISSA president Keith Wellington says there is no such bias. The two athletes, long distance runners Evans Tetteh and Dominic Amponsah from Ghana, were ruled ineligible to compete at this year's championships set for March 19-23.
Both athletes arrived in Jamaica on October 4, 2023. ISSA's rule states that to be eligible to compete at any competition within the same school year, a student must be in school by September 30 of that school year the latest.
However, Jamaica College acting principal Wayne Robinson says there were extenuating circumstances.
