JA in good stead on final day against Barbados

Jamaica, leading by two on first innings, reached 300 for 7 in their second innings after the lunch break on the final day of their third round match in the West Indies Regional first-class championship against Barbados on Monday at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown.  

The three time defending champions had resumed on 114 for 2 in their second innings.

Marlon Samuels, who resumed on 58, was dismissed for 105 off 249 balls having batted for almost five hours.

Wavell Hinds, who was at the crease for just over three hours, faced 152 balls and struck six fours and two sixes while posting 57.

David Bernard Jr went for 5, Chadwick Walton for naught and Captain Tamar Lambert was caught for 41.

Meanwhile, the Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) team completed a 158-run victory over Leeward Islands on the stroke of the lunch in their game at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in North Sound, Antigua.

The Leeward Islands, resuming on 70 for 5, were dismissed for 221 with Gavin Tonge posting 65 and Jahmar Hamilton 45.

Carlos Brathwaite took 3 for 42, Kavesh Kantasingh 2 for 52 and Ryan Austin 2 for 26 fro the CCC team.
