Jamaica crushes Leeward Islands

Jamaica achieved a record equaling 12 straight victories in the regional four day competition after crushing the Leeward Islands by 170 runs inside three days to record their third win from as many games this season.

Jamaica was bowled out for 225 in the second innings after resuming on 153 for 9 to set the Leewards 327 to win. Odean Brown top scored with 59 in putting on 110 runs for the final wicket with Sheldon Cottrell who ended unbeaten on 48. Hayden Walsh had the best figures of 4 for 62 to end with 5 wickets in the match. Justin Athanaze ended with 6 wickets after taking 2 for 37 in the second innings.

Spinner Nikkita Miller then snared 4 for 34 for match haul of 11 for 47 while pacer Andrew Richardson took 3 for 30 to end with six for 64 as the Leewards were dismissed for 156 after being set 327 to win.

Scores in the match: Jamaica 209 and 225, Leewards 108 and 156.
