Jamaica finish 4th on medal table at Goodwill Swimming Championships

Jamaica ended 4th on the medal table at the just-concluded Goodwill Swimming Championships in St Lucia, ending the games with a total of 49 medals inclusive of 20 golds, 14 silver and 15 bronze.

Renae Chung took double gold on the day, claiming the top spot in the girls 15-17 50m backstroke where she completed the event in 32.32 seconds and grabbed her second gold by winning the 100m butterfly in 1min 07.22 seconds.

Leah-Paige Phillips led home a Jamaican 1-2 in the girls 100m butterfly event, as she grabbed gold in 1 minute, 16.12 seconds. 

In the relays, Jamaica claimed gold in the boys 8 and under 200m freestyle. Jamaica also won the girls 11-12 200m freestyle replay with the boys taking second in their race.

The girls 13-14 200m freestyle relay also went to Jamaica with the boys taking silver in their event. Jamaica ended the championship with four meet records, while Addision Thomas won the top 11-12 girls award, with Renae Chung taking the award for the girls 15-17 age group.
