Jamaican basketballers aim for NBA

There are two Jamaicans among the wave of college basketball players looking to grace the NBA league next season.

Vashil Fernandez has distinguished himself at Valparaiso University as one of the best defensive players in the country and Shevon Thompson, a top rebounder at George Mason, have been working out with teams ahead of this year's draft.

Thompson recently wrapped up workouts with the Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards, Houston
Rockets and Orlando Magic. Fernandez, a Calabar past student, has so far worked out with the Portland Trailblazers.

This year's NBA Player Draft will be on Thursday.
