Jamaica’s World Championship representative Shadae Lawrence has joined the Colorado State University Track and Field team for her final season of college competition. Lawrence, the NCAA women's discus champion in 2017 and a three-time All-American, signed a financial-aid agreement with CSU and will be eligible to compete immediately for the Rams.
Lawrence competed for Kansas State the past three seasons, setting both school and Big 12 Conference records with a lifetime best of 62.58 metres at last year's Conference Championship. Lawrence was the NCAA runner-up in the discus in 2018 and finished fourth in the national championships as a freshman in 2016.
She was a two-time Big 12 Conference champion and was named the conference's outstanding freshman of the year in 2016.
