Joel Wilson, the only West Indian on the ICC Elite Panel of umpires

Trinidad and Tobago's Joel Wilson is only West Indian on the ICC Elite Panel of umpires list which was released on Thursday.

The list has 12 umpires and has seen a historic achievement with Sharfuddoula Shahid of Bangladesh becoming the first umpire from that country to make the Elite Panel.

Meanwhile, former West Indies captain Richie Richardson is only one of six match referees on the Elite Panel which has seen a reduction from seven following the retirement of Englishman Chris Broad. Broad refereed 123 test matches, 361 One Day Internationals and 135 T20 Internationals.
