KC and XLCR on target to retain Corporate Area Champs titles

Defending champions Kingston College and Excelsior are on target to retain their respective boys’ and girls’ titles the Corporate Area Athletics Championships taking place at Jamaica College.
 
KC has so far scored 123 points to build up a 23 point lead over Calabar, while JC are currently in third on 98 points.

On the track, Tyreece Foreman of St George's College sped to a personal best 10.44 secondss to win the Class 1 boys class 100 metre final ahead of Excelsior's Malike Nugent 10.56 and KC's Nyrone Wade 10.60 seconds.

The Class 2 event was decided in a photo finish as Trinidad and Tobago native Kaeden Herbert of JC edged out the Calabar's Ronaldo Francis. Both were credited with 10.81 seconds. Another Calabar athlete, Ched Brown, was third in a personal best equallling 10.82 seconds.

Over in Class 3, Kai Kristian Kelly of JC clocked 11.08 seconds to beat KC’c Andre Genus 11.29, while Amarii Rayon Walker of St  George's College was third in 11.30 seconds.

On the girls' side, champions Excelsior lead with 142 points. They are 20 and a half points ahead of Wolmer's, while Convent of Mercy Alpha Academy are third on 116.

Abigail Wolfe of Wolmer's sped to a season's best 11.75 seconds to land the Class 1 girls class 100 metres.

Tashay Faulkner of alpha was second in 12.07, while Shakira Rhoden of Excelsior rounded out the podium spots with 12.18 seconds.
Natrece East of Wolmer's recorded a meet record of 11.78 seconds to win the Class 2 event ahead of teammate Tiana Marshall in 12.04 seconds. Over in Class 3, Seana Wilson of Alpha posted a personal best 12.07 seconds to win.

Kayla Johnson of Immaculate stopped the clock at 12.18 for silver, while Aliyah Ross of Alpha took the bronze in 12.30 seconds.
