The Tokyo 2020 Olympic 110m metre hurdles bronze medalist, Ronald Levy could miss next summer's Paris Olympics as well as the two next World Athletic Championships in 2025 and 2027, during a possible 4-year ban.
This, after returning an adverse analytical finding for two banned drugs, which Radio Jamaica Sports has been reliably, informed are -- GW501516-Sulfoxide and GW501516 --Sulfone.
On Friday, Levy via his Instagram page, confirmed being notified of the adverse finding on November 3, but did not reveal the name of drugs. However, a highly placed Radio Jamaica source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that the two substances were found in Levy's A-sample.
His sample was analysed at the WADA accredited laboratory in Quebec, Canada last month.
GW501516 is a Prohibited Substance under the WADA 2022 Prohibited List under the category S4 Hormone and Metabolic Modulators.
The drug is a Non-Specified Substance prohibited at all times.
According to the Athletics Integrity Unit, the period of Ineligibility is usually a period of four (4) years, unless the Athlete demonstrates that the Anti-Doping Rule Violations were not intentional.
Levy, the 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medalist had stated that he had requested that his B-sample be tested.
The B-sample usually takes up to 10 days to be returned.
Levy's out-of competition test was taken by the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission.
