MBU narrowly miss out on Wray & Nephew JPL playoff spot

Head coach of Montego Bay United, Brazilian Neider dos Santos says the transition of ownership in the first round of the season was part of the reason the reason the team failed to qualify for the playoffs in the Wray & Nephew Jamaica Premier League.

Despite their 2-1 win over Tivoli Gardens, Mo Bay missed out on the sixth and final playoff spot on goal difference to Waterhouse. The former champions won their last five matches and lost only three of their 13 second round games.  

The playoffs begin on April 22 with Tivoli Gardens set to take on Waterhouse and Arnett Gardens opposing Portmore United.

Champions Mount Pleasant and Cavalier by virtue of finishing first and second respectively, have automatic byes to the semi-finals.
