McLeod and Distin cop runner-up spot at Hengelo meet

Olympic gold medallist Omar McLeod and Lamara Distin were the best placed Jamaicans at the FBK Games, a World Continental Tour gold meet in Hengelo, Netherlands, on Monday.

McLeod was second in the men's 110m hurdles in 13.42 seconds behind American Cordell Tinch, 13.10. Distin was also second in the women's high jump with a leap of 1.90m. Australian Nicola Olyslagers won with a mark of 1.97m.

Olympic champion Roje Stona was third, in his season opener, in the men's discus with a throw of 67.19m, while 2019 World Championship silver medallist Fedrick Dacres was 7th with 64.86m. The event was won by 2022 world champion, Solvenian Kristjan Ceh who threw 69.21m.
