Melbourne and Manchester go through to Limited Overs semis

Defending champions Melbourne and last years beaten finalists Manchester have earned the right to meet each other in next Saturday’s semi finals of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Limited Overs competition.

This follows impressive quarter final victories over Portland and St. Catherine CC respectively.

Melbourne recorded an eight wicket win over Portland at Derrymore Road.

Portland was dismissed for 98 by Shamar Anderson three for seven, Christopher Lamont two for eight and Tafari Williams two for 10.

Melbourne then made 99 for two with unbeaten knocks from Marlon Samuels 47 and Damion Jacob 33. 

Manchester defeated St. Catherine by three wickets at Chedwin Park.

The Saints first made 251 with Captain Tamar Lambert scoring 80 while Orain Williams made 47 and Danza Hyatt 30.

Ziggy Levy took three for 53, Manchester replied with 253 for seven as Brian Clarke led the way with 53, Captain Gary Graham 44 and Donovan Sinclair 42, against Odean Brown three for 37 and Gavin Wallace three for 58.

St. Ann and Hanover were given byes to the second semi-final.
