Days after quitting the Racers Track Club, national sprinter Jevaughn Minzie could turn out for the Jamaica Rugby Sevens team. 23 year old Minzie left the Glen Mills-coached club recently and is expected to train with the MVP track club next season. Olympic 200m bronze medallist Warren Weir who has also left the Racers Track Club, made his debut for Jamaica's Rugby Sevens team in the CAC Games in Colombia recently.
Chairman of the Jamaica Rugby Football Union Jerry Benzwick says Minzie would be a great addition to the national team. Benzwick also intends to attract more track and field athletes to the sport, especially on the female side.
