Mixed 4x400m for high schools added to Gibson McCook Relays programme

The 47th staging of the Gibson McCook Relays will have a brand new event for high schools while welcoming a number of schools from North America and the Caribbean.

For the first time in the history of the relays, high schools will compete in the mixed 4 by 400 metre relay.

Given the global popularity of the event which is now contested at the World Athletics Championships, the Gibson McCook Relays Committee has decided that this year's staging was an opportune time to introduce it.

Over 100 high school teams, and 14 clubs and institutions totalling more than 2,200 athletes are expected to compete in what will be the 47th staging of the meet but The 51st year since the first staging.

The 2024 Gibson McCook Relays will be staged on February 24 at the National Stadium with live and exclusive coverage on TVJ, TVJ SN and 1spot media. There will also be radio coverage on Hitz 92 FM.
