Mount Pleasant beat Cavalier to move up to third in the JPL table

Caribbean Cup champions Mount Pleasant FA are up to third place in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League (JPL) following their 1-0 win over Cavalier in their rescheduled game at the Stadium East Field on Wednesday. Gadail Irving scored the lone goal of the contest in the 28th minute.

Despite their off-the-field distractions, Mount Pleasant, have lost only once this season and are on a three game winning streak. The former champions moved up to 36 points, the same as fourth placed Portmore United.

Meanwhile, Cavalier are on their worse run of form for almost a decade, as they have lost four successive games for the first time since the 2016-17 JPL season. The defending champions are 8th on 26 points.
