World Championship 200 metres finalist, Steve Mullings, has become the fifth fastest Jamaican male of all-times.
Pushed by the maximum allowable wind of 2.0 metres per second, Mullings clocked a lifetime best and world leading 9.90 seconds to win the 100 metres at the Jace Lacoste Invitational Meet in Mississippi on Saturday..
He was 11 hundredth of a second off his previous best of 10.01 clocked in July 2009.
The only Jamaicans to go fastest than Mullings are world record holder Usain Bolt with 9.58 seconds, Asafa Powell 9.73 seconds, Nesta Carter 9.78 seconds and Yohan Blake 9.89 seconds.
Mullings completed the sprint double by clocking 20.17 seconds in the 200 metres pushed by an illegal wind of 2.2 metres per seconds.
In the meantime, three-time World Championship medalist Delloreen Ennis produced 13.04 seconds for second in the 100 metres hurdles at the Tom Jones Invitational in Florida on Saturday.
Natasha Ruddock, former world youth silver medalist, placed second in the college women's equivalent with 12.99 seconds at the same meet.
Dwight Thomas, national record holder returned 13.20 seconds to place seconds in the men's 110 metres hurdles, won by American training partner David Oliver in 13.09 seconds.
