A two month project is now underway to repair and upgrade the 25 meter diving pool at the National Stadium Pool facility. This comes in the wake of warnings by the Ministry of Health about the state of the facility.
Fans could soon see Olympian Yona Knight-Wisdom displaying his diving skills at the National Stadium pool facility especially with work now underway to repair and upgrade the 25 meter diving pool. The project is a follow up to the work which was carried out on the 50 meter swimming pool in 2013.
Major Desmon Brown, General Manager of Independence Park Limited which is responsible for the facility, listed the changing out of pipes which have been in place since 1962 as well as the resurfacing and re conditioning of the pool as part of the work being carried out.
The work on the diving pool is long overdue as the Independence Park has received warnings from the Ministry of Health about the surface the diving pool and has even shut down that section of the facility in 2014.
The repair work on the diving pool is expected to be completed by March.
