As first reported by Radio Jamaica Sports on Monday, Jamaica's Brandon King and John Campbell have been included in a new-look West Indies test squad to face Australia in the upcoming home series against Australia.

The squad also sees the return of one experienced batter, while two newcomers have been included. King who has been a part of the Windies ODI and T20 squads earns his first call up to the test squad, while Campbell earns a recall to the test fold for the first time since 2022 after a strong domestic campaign.

Limited overs captain Shai Hope makes a return to the test squad for the first time since December 2021, while 24 year old Guyanese batter Kevlon Anderson gets a maiden call-up after back-to-back prolific domestic campaigns which included three centuries this season.

In the bowling department 21 year old fast bowler Johann Layne from St Kitts and Nevis who claimed 63 first-class wickets in 17 matches, gets a maiden call-up, while Trinidad and Tobago seamer Anderson Phillip, who recently captured a five-wicket haul for the West Indies 'A' against South Africa 'A', has been recalled for the first time since December 2022.

Veteran seamer Kemar Roach has been omitted as well as Kavem Hodge, former vice-captain Joshua Da Silva, Amir Jangoo, Gudakesh Motie and Kevin Sinclair who all featured in  the West Indies’ last test series against Pakistan in January.

The 3-test series against the Australians starts on June 25 at Kensington Oval in Barbados with the second test set for Grenada. Sabina Park will host the third and final test, a day/night affair starting on July 12.
