Highly fancied runners Norblar and Devine Force captured the divided feature, the Vestia Trophy for native bred and imported 3 year olds over 7 and a half furlongs, as the curtain came down on the 2023 racing calendar at Caymanas Park.

The 2-1 second choice Norblar under former champion jockey Christopher Mamdeen, took up the ascendency with a little over 4 furlongs to go and went away for a comfortable victory in Division 1. Norblar covered the distance in a 1:32.2, winning by 5 and a half lengths.

Division 2 also provided a runaway victory as well for the 1-2 favourite Devine force under Tevin Foster and fittingly saddled by 14-time former champion trainer Phillip Feanny who conditioned the outstanding filly Vestia to a string of victories three decades ago. Devine Force went through the pack with 5 and a half furlongs to go.

Similarly to Division 1, the 3 year old American-bred bay colt clocked 1:32.2 for the distance and won by 6 and three quarter lengths.

Jockeys Christopher Mamdeen and Phillip Parchment each had a double on the card, while trainer Patrick "Wacky" Lynch saddled two winners.

The 2024 racing season gets underway with a 10-race new year's day programme on Monday.
