The Jamaica Scorpions had a productive opening day on Thursday in their 4th round regional 4-day match against the Leeward Islands at Warner Park in St Kitts, reaching 315-7 in their first innings at the close of play. Paul Palmer Jr is the top scorer so far with 78 not out for the Scorpions who elected to bat.
John Campbell and Guyanese Assad Fuddadin also contributed with 57 and 58 respectively. Rahkeem Cornwall has been the pick of the Hurricanes’ bowlers so far with 3-84, while Jerimiah Louis, Devon Thomas, Sheno Berridge and Jamaican Nkrumah Bonner each added one wicket apiece.
The Jamaicans who are lying 5th on the six-team standings, are still searching for their first win this season in the competition.
