Kieron Pollard will be hoping to make a strong comback to international cricket, after being named in the West Indies 13-man squad to face New Zealand in a two-match T20 series, starting on Saturday.
Pollard has been out of the regional side since last July, due to a knee injury, but strong performances in the regional four day competition with Trinidad & Tobago, points to a return to full fitness for the explosive all rounder.
Chris Gayle, who has struggled with a back problem in recent times, has been rested for the series, but there will be a strong Jamaican presence in the team with Andre Russell, Sheldon Cotterell and Krishmar Santokie selected.
Dwayne Smith, Lendl Simmons, Denesh Ramdin, Sunil Narine, Andre Fletcher, Darren Bravo, Christopher Barnwell and Samuel Badree are the other members of the Darren Sammy captained squad.
