Led by a century from captain Rovman Powell, Jamaica Scorpions defeated the Guyana Harpy Eagles by 3 wickets in the second semi-final of the CWI Regional Super50 Cup at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Thursday evening.
Chasing 319 for victory, the Scorpions replied with 322-7 off 48.1 overs. Powell slammed 105 off 97 balls including 7 fours and 3 sixes.
Powell also shared a 103 run 4th wicket partnership with Alwyn Williams who made 45. Brandon King also made 64, while Andre McCarthy added 22 and Odean Smith 19.
Earlier, the Guyana Harpy Eagles posted 318-9 after electing to bat. Shimron Hetmyer led the way with 86 including 8 fours and 3 sixes
He also shared 106 run 5th wicket partnership with Sherfane Rutherford who also made 56.
Kevin Sinclair also contributed 41 not out and Leon Johnson 30. Odean Smith picked a career best 5-65 for the Scorpions, while Nicholson Gordon took 2-55.
The Scorpions will now meet the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force in Saturday's final which will also be held at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
