Seville prevails in 100m at Atlanta City Games

World Championships representative Oblique Seville captured the men’s 100m in 9.99 seconds at the Atlanta City Games track and field meet in the United States on Saturday night.

Seville had earlier clocked 10.03 to win his heat. Another Jamaican, Jelani Walker, did not finish in his heat.

Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Natoya Goule clocked 1 minute, 28.18 seconds to finish second in the 600 metres.

Fellow Jamaican Rajay Hamilton was third in the men's equivalent in 1 minute, 17.94 seconds.

No Jamaican woman made it to the final of the 100 metre hurdles as 2015 world champion Danielle Williams finished 4th in her heat in 12.92 seconds. The other Jamaican, Crystal Morrison was 4th in her heat in 13.33 seconds.

Damion Thomas who was the lone Jamaican in the men's sprint hurdles, clocked 13.60 seconds to finish 5th in his heat and missed out on qualification to the final.

Ashanti Moore equalled her personal best with 11.10 seconds to finish third.
