Supreme Ventures Jamaica 2-yr old series kicks off next wk

The sixth Supreme Ventures Jamaica 2-year old Stakes, which will see the sponsors committing $6.5 million to the $11.8 million purse, is set to start with the "Cash Pot Race Day" on October 16, 2010.

The second race in the series is to be run over 7 furlongs on Saturday November 27, for the Pick3 "Super Challenge" Trophy. 

The third and final leg, the Supreme Ventures "Jamaica 2-year old Stakes", will be contested over one mile on Boxing Day, Saturday, December 27.

As an added incentive, the winner of the three race series will earn a $1 million bonus prize, plus the prestigious Supreme Ventures Jamaica 2-year-old Series Trophy.

Of the 14 horses invited for the opening event, the "Cash Pot Only One for Me Trophy" over 6 furlongs for a purse of $2.9 million, the Robert Pearson trained colt "Traditional Prince" is the ante-post favourite.

The field will also feature the likes of "Another train" from the stable of Harry Parsard, the Anthony Nunes trained "Electrifying" and "Saragosa," "Fattie Bum Bum" from the barn of champion trainer Wayne DaCosta and Harry Jaghai's "Palace Gold" and "Golden Image".
