The Jamaica Tallawahs made it two wins from as many games in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) following a four wicket victory over the Guyana Amazon Warriors at Warner Park in St Kitts on Saturday.
Led by Pakistani Mohammad Amir with 3-22, the Amazon Warriors batting first, were restricted to 142-6 from their 20 overs after a wet pitch delayed the start for almost an hour.
Migael Pretorious supported Amir with 2-35. Captain Shimron Hetmyer 39, led the scoring for the Amazon Warriors.
Romario Shepherd 36, Shai Hope 25 and Henrich Klassen 22, also made useful contributions. Jamaican Odean Smith made 6 from two balls.
In their chase, the Tallawahs laboured to 93-5 in 16 overs. However, Man of the Match and captain Rovman Powell slammed four sixes and a four in his knock of 44 from 38 balls to carry the two time champions to 143-6 with four balls to spare.
Opener Brandon King made 32 as Chris Green's 17 from 7 balls, helped Powell at the end. The Tallawahs are next in action on Wednesday against the St Lucia Kings.
