Three Jamaicans have been nominated for CONCACAF awards for their excellence in 2017. 27 year old goalkeeper Andre Blake has been nominated for the goalkeeper of the year award and the CONCACAF player of the year award.
For reaching the Caribbean Cup final and Gold Cup final in the same year, head coach Theodore ‘Tappa’ Whitmore has been nominated for coach of the year. Kemar Lawrence has been nominated for the defender of the year and the goal of the year award.
The New York Red Bulls player's goal against Mexico in the 2017 Gold Cup semi-final is one of the top ten goals in the region. The awardees in these and other categories will be announced on December 17.
