Tsetsi Davis wins in clinical display in Wray & Nephew Contender

By Patrick R. Anderson

After four rounds, Christopher "Shaka" Henry decided it was "no mas."

That's after absorbing tremendous punishment dished out by Tsetsi "Lights Out" Davis in the 4th fight of the preliminary round of the 2015 Wray & Nephew Contender Middleweight series at the Chinese Benevolent Association's headquarters Wednesday night.

After the tournament organisers found a replacement to fight Davis in the capable Christopher Henry, as Jermaine King, Davis' scheduled opponent could not make the weight, Davis again demonstrated why he is one of the public's favourite boxers. You can always depend on him to put on a good show, win or lose.

But there was no losing by Davis on Wednesday night who improved his record to 13 wins against 3 losses. He started out a little tentative in the opening round against the taller Henry, who needed to use his jab, keep Davis off balanced and fight him from the peimeter. Davis on the other hand, had to get close on the inside to do his damage. He found his range in the second round and started to throw his devastatong body punches.

In round-3, Davis put on a clinic on how to go to the body, cutting down the tree known as "Shaka" Henry, and then delivering telling combination punches to the head as well.

It was more of the same in the 4th round, with Davis being more relentless, executing devastating body punches and this left Henry open to wicked combinations which knocked the stuffings out of the 42-year-old Barbadian.

After four rounds, Henry was asked by "Yellow Team" trainer Andrew Boland what he wants to do, as he was not doing enough. He decided "no mas."  It was a technical Knockout for Davis.

It was as clinical a boxing display as you will ever see.
