The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) will now have $3.5 million more to pump into its Under- 23 programme as the Olympic football team continues its preparation for CONCACAF Olympic qualifying this summer. National Under-23 head coach Donovan Duckie has expressed delight at the support from the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA) and says the funds will be crucial as they ramp up preparation for qualifying.
Coach Duckie says he is confident that the JOA will not regret their most recent investment and believes the squad has the right mix to get the job done. The Under-23 team was last in action on February 28 against a KSAFA All Stars X1 at the National Stadium. They had previously played two friedlies in St Vincent and the Grenadines against that country's Under-20 and senior teams.
