Jamaica's Under-23 football team returned to the country Monday morning, August 8, from Suriname, after being knocked out of contention for a spot at next summer's London Olympics.
The young Reggae Boyz’ elimination follows their 2 – 2 draw with host Suriname in their first round Caribbean Football Union (CFU) qualifiers on Sunday, August 7.
Jamaica, who won their previous games against St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Cayman Islands, needed to beat Suriname in Sunday's match, as the host had a better goal difference.
Jamaica has never qualified for an Olympic Games.
