West Indies women's quartet announce retirement from international cricket

West Indies women's cricketers Anisa Mohammed, Shakera Selman, Kycia Knight and Kyshona Knight have all confirmed their retirement from international cricket. The four players recently communicated their decisions to Cricket West Indies (CWI).

Mohammed and Selman both served as vice-captains during their careers which lasted for 20 and 18 years respectively.

Mohammed made her debut for the West Indies Women in 2003 and played her last match against Australia Women in the ICC Women's World Cup in March 2022.

In 2016, she became the first cricketer, male or female to take 100 T20 international wickets.

She played 141 One Day Internationals and 117 T20 internationals.

Selman who started her international career against Ireland Women in 2008, played 100 ODIs and 96 T20 internationals.

The Knight twins, Kycia and Kyshona, made their debuts for the West Indies Women in 2011 and 2013 respectively.

Kycia who is a left handed wicketkeeper/batter, holds the record for the most dismissals in a women's T20 international innings with 5, as well as 4 stumpings, the most in an innings.

CWI's Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe paid tribute to the 4 players, noting that they've all made significant individual impacts on women's cricket in the West Indies and the world.

Mohammed, Selman and the Knight twins were all part of the victorious West Indies team which lifted the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in 2016.
