Defending champions Australia are through to the final and will play England on Sunday. This after the defeated west indies women by 28 runs in their semi-final encounter today
Australia won the toss and chose to bat.
West Indies women reportedly did a good job in the field and the spinners reportedly did a decent job on a slow pitch to restrict Australia to 115 for 7 in their allotted overs.
West Indies needed 116 runs from 20 Overs to win the match.
The Australian bowlers lived up to expectations with their women taking seven wickets, one catch and a run-out between them.
The Windies got off the mark with an edge past the slips for a single.
Soon after Stefanie Taylor was clean bowled was clean bowled by with the score on 13.
It started the demise of the Windies women.
Taylor was followed by Merissa Aguilleira who got off the mark with a couple of runs flicked through the leg side. Her second ball Aguilleira tries to flick it through the same area and is trapped in front of the timbers and West Indies were 17-2.
Deandra Dottin, scorer of the fastest international T20 hundred went after hitting six. The score was then 23 for 3.
19 year old Shemaine Campbelle was gone soon after and West Indies were 28-4.
The Windies began accumulating, but the run rate was slow .
at the end they failed in their bid to win.
