National technical leader and head coach of Sprintec Track Club, Maurice Wilson, is firmly opposed to athletes taking part in the controversial enhanced games.
While recognizing that track and field has evolved, Wilson says the sport has taken a direction that he finds deeply troubling.
Wilson is also concerned about what he describes as an "any means necessary" approach by some athletes.
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has also condemned the enhanced games as a dangerous and irresponsible concept, warning that it promotes the use of powerful prohibited substances and poses serious long-term risks to athletes' health and well-being.
Only one Jamaican, 32-year-old sprinter Shockoria Wallace, has so far signed up for the May 21-24 inaugural staging in Las Vegas, Nevada.
