The West Indies have now been whitewashed in six of their last 11 One Day International (ODI) series away from home after they suffered a crushing 7 wicket defeat to England at the Oval on Tuesday to lose the series 3-0.
In a game reduced to 40 overs per team due to rain, the West Indies were restricted to 251-9. Sherfane Rutherford who recently joined the squad, top scored with 70, while Gudakesh Motie was next best with 63. Motie added 91 runs for the 8th wicket with Alzzari Joseph who made 41.
Adil Rashid claimed 3-40, while Saqib Mahmood, Brydon Carse and Matthew Potts had 2 wickets each.
In their run chase, England were in full control from the start with openers Jamie Smith and Ben Duckett adding 93 runs for the first wicket in just 7 overs. Motie broke the partnership removing Smith for a top score of 64.
Duckett who made 58 and second game hero Joe Root 44, continued the onslaught on the Windies bowlers in a 62 run second wicket stand.
Jos Butler added the finishing touches with a brisk 41 from just 20 balls, while captain Harry Brook was unbeaten on 26, with England getting to victory at 246-3.
Motie who picked up 1-74, said the delay in the team arriving at the venue also affected their preparation for the game.
The teams will now turn their attention to the three match T20 series which begins on Friday.
