Defending champions St.
Georges Slayers and Denham Town Wizards scored contrasting wins as the best of
three quarter finals of the KFC National Basketball League started at the GC
Foster College on Tuesday night.
Rohan Robinson with 13 points lead the Slayers to a 65 - 40 win over Running Rebels for whom Param Brown scored 11 points.
Denham Town Wizards inspired by Dwayne Harrison's game high 26 points including two free throws with 36 seconds on the clock edged Tivoli all stars 66-65.
Anthony Farqharson also had 16 points for the Wizards, while Damian Young's 19 points and Lavar Henry's 17 points led the scoring for Tivoli all Stars.
The two other quarter final are on Wednesday night, with Blazing Panthers against Majesty Gardens at 6 before Urban Knights meet Arnett Garden Rockers at 7:45 pm.
Both matches will be played at University of the West Indies.
