Jamaica's Katherine Wynter fell at the round of 16 stage of badminton singles at the Pan Am Games on Tuesday, going down 21-4, 21-6 to Iris Wang of the United States. Samuel Ricketts also exited the competition at the round of 16 stage after losing 21-15, 21-13 to Guatemala's Kevin Courdon.
Meanwhile, Wynter and Tahlia Richardson lost 21-13, 21-11 in women's doubles round of 16 action to the Cuban pair of Yeily Ortiz and Taymara Oropesa. Jamaica failed to progress to the quarter-final of the men's squash doubles after losing 2-1 to Guatemala on Tuesday morning.
Chris Binnie gave Jamaica a one game advantage after winning his tie 3-1 over Edwin Franco. However, Luis Walters went down 3-0 to Alejandro Franco before Bruce Burrowes suffered a similar defeat to Mauricio Munoz. In boxing, Jamaica's Ricardo Brown lost by a unamimous decision to Cristian Salcedo of Colombia.
