Dancehall artiste Shenseea and her label Interscope Records are reportedly being sued over their use of parts of soca song Work.
The 1999 Denise Belfon single was sampled in Shenseea's controversial single Lick featuring Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
The multi-million dollar lawsuit was reportedly filed in a New York court by Caribbean artiste and music producer Anastas Hackett, stage name Pupa Nas-T.
Hackett co-wrote and produced the soca single.
Reports are that representatives sought clearance for the sample, but it was withheld because of what Hackett describes as inadequate terms.
However, Lick was still released in January.
Hackett is seeking US$10 million in damages, profits earned from the single and attorney costs.
He is also requesting a jury trial to have all traces of Lick removed from the public domain.
