Sheryl Lee Ralph receives honorary doctor of fine arts degree from Rutgers University

Renowned actress and singer, Sheryl Lee Ralph has added another accolade to her career.

The Emmy-winning actress received an honorary doctor of fine arts degree from her alma mater, Rutgers University recently.

Dr Ralph was also the keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony for the institution.

Having started university at 16, the Abbott Elementary star graduated from Rutgers in only three years in 1972, making history as the school's youngest graduate at age 19.
