Tributes pour in for Boom Dandimite

The dancehall community has reacted to the passing of Boom Dandimite.

Sean Paul and Tanya Stephens are among those who shared tributes.

The former Scare Dem Crew member died yesterday in a US hospital after a relapse stemming from a car accident in April on Half Way Tree Road.

He is survived by 5 children.

Rising deejay Wilful Skilful was also involved in the accident.

It was reported that Boom Dandimite collapsed after disembarking the plane in Florida last Friday and was rushed to a hospital in Orlando, where he was admitted and placed on life support.

The entertainer, whose given name is Herman Stewart was booked to perform at Reggae Sumfest this year on Festival Night 1.

Boom Dandimite, Nitty Kutchie, Harry Toddler and Elephant Man formed the Scare Dem Crew back in the 1990s and scored hits with songs such as Pure Gal and Many Many.

Bounty Killer was also featured in the crew.
