CPJ reports less profit in second quarter

Caribbean Producers Jamaica is reporting less profit in its second quarter ended December.

Post-tax earnings amounted to US$1.75 million, a reduction from the US$37.5 million made in 2021.

The company says commodity price variations and unrealised gains led to the fall in profit.

Meanwhile, Caribbean Producers Jamaica's revenues were US$5.3 million more than in 2021.

Total earnings were valued at US$38.3 million, versus US$33.1 million in 2021.

The company says its improved performance was driven by the introduction of new product lines and the development of its online business.
