Investors from the Dominican Republic have shown an interest in St. Thomas.
Speaking at the inaugural Jamaican/Dominican Republic business forum at the AC Hotel in Kingston on Tuesday, Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, said a group from the country will be visiting St Thomas with the objective of replicating a facility.
In the meantime, Mr. Bartlett disclosed that the Dominican Republic hotel company, Viva Wyndham, is shortly to build 1,000 rooms in Rose Hall near Negril, Westmoreland.
The Dominican Republic is Jamaica's third largest trading partner in the Caribbean region.
