The West Indies are now trailing Pakistan 1-0 in their three-match One Day International series after losing Friday’s opening game by 5 wickets at the Brian Lara Academy in Trinidad. The West Indies who were sent in to bat, were dismissed for 280 in 49 overs after being sent in to bat.
Hometown boy and opener Evin Lewis returning from injury and playing his first game since the Ireland T20 Internationals in June, top scored with 60 off 62 balls.
His knock which was the 12th ODI half century of his career, included 3 sixes and 5 fours.
Captain Shai Hope with 55, Roston Chase 53 and Gudakesh Motie's quick fire 18-ball cameo of 31, were the other principal scorers. Fast bowlers Shaeen Shah Afridi with 4-51 and Naseem Shah 3- 55, led the bowling for the Pakistanis.
Pakistan who wer set 281 to win, eventually got home at 159-4 after 31 overs. Hasan Nawaz top scored with an unbeaten 63, while skipper Mohammed Rizwan made 53, Babar Azam 47 and Hussain Talat an undefeated 41.
Shamar Joseph had 2-65, while there was a wicket each for Jayden Seales, Gudakesh Motie and Roston Chase.
This was only the second ODI being played at the Brian Lara Academy. The second game will be played also in Tarouba also on Sunday.
