Cyber Security Solutions company Fortinet, says Latin America and the Caribbean saw an increase in cyberattack attempts for the first half of the year.
According to a report from the company, 137 billion cyberattack attempts were made between January and June of this year.
This represents a 50% up tick compared with the same period last year, with 91 billion attempts.
Ransomware attacks and ransomware signatures doubled in the region up to June, reaching 52 thousand detections and 10-thousand 666 detections respectively.
Mexico had the highest ransomware distribution activity in the region for the period.
