IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva recently appointed an Advisory Council on Entrepreneurship & Growth as part of efforts to help its 191 members create an environment more conducive to sustainable growth and development.
The IMF head says this Council is necessary as the medium-term outlook for global economic growth is the lowest in decades, due mainly to falling productivity levels.
The Council brings together practitioners in business, finance, economics and academia as well as policy makers.
