MFS Capital Partners, formerly SSL Venture Capital, says the name change will see the company making changes to its operations and business strategy.
While speaking at the company's renaming ceremony at the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday, Director of MFS Anika Jengelley said the shift is to help make the company more robust.
MFS previously invested in start-up companies, however, Ms Jengelley said it will now focus on taking positions in or fully acquiring more mature companies.
She said the rebranded MFS Capital will also realign its corporate identity in line with the core values and mission of its parent company, MFS Group, which will allow it to "benefit from the goodwill" the Group has already amassed.
